Contact UsThe Reason Acoustic Performance a Huge Success!
Wow, what an evening that was May 5, 2012 at the Coach and Lantern Pub. Dock Holliday opened the show with 8 orginial songs, some old from the 2010 Levi EP including Johnny 18 and Wakin Up, and some new favourites of ours including Morning Sesh, Lover’s Lane and The Parade. Some of these songs were played for the first time, and some of them we have not played together in a long time or have ever played together for that matter. We can’t even explain how thrilling it was to play in front of so many family and friends of ours and the guys from The Reason. The response we received was phenominal and we can’t express how greatful we are to have the opportunity to be a part of this special night.
The Reason’s Performance Recap
After a 20 minute intermission, The Reason took the stage at the upstairs Coach and were spot on all evening. The show consisted of acoustic renditions of the entire album “Fool” which has been a great success for the band. The audience was also treated to acoustic versions of some new tracks that will be appearing on the new record the band is set to begin recording in Vancouver B.C two weeks from the event. The band also played a few cover songs including Tom Petty’s “Won’t Back Down” and Bruce Springsteen’s “Brilliant Disguise”. The band had recorded a version of Brilliant Disguise on a EP they released a few years back, and since Brad is also a massive Springsteen fan, they invited him to the stage to perform their version of the song with them.
Stay tuned on The Reason’s Youtube channel for footage of their performance. They recorded audio and video and will be releasing the event in the next couple of weeks. For the fans who made it out last night, The Reason ended the night by thanking everyone for coming out and being part of this special night, then ended off with The Longest Highway Home that had all 60 attendees singing along. The band received a well deserved round of applause and standing ovation.
Another Thank You Note
We cannot even explain how important being a part of this show was for us. We have played a lot of gigs, but this event was exactly what Dock Holliday is all about, and why we love making music.
First off, thank you to The Reason for choosing us to open up the night. We can’t wait for the footage from the show and the new record. Second, the Coach and Lantern, you guys are all the best, thank you for hosting this event. Last but not least, to our friends and family who came out and spent the night with us and The Reason, thank you!

Coach and Lantern Open Mic Nights

As a group of musicians, we are extreme supporters of the local music community. I can honestly say we wouldn’t be doing what we are doing now if it weren’t for the people and places we have been introduced to along the way. As a token of our appreciation, we want to share our support by posting upcoming and weekly events that we attend, have attended, happen to come across, and help promote our friends as much as possible. One particular weekly occurrence we regularly attend is the Open Mic Night with Ryan Vivian at the Coach and Lantern Pub in Ancaster.
Why we love Open Mic Night at the Coach
Open mics are a great way to get your feet wet with playing live Music. The Coach and Lantern plays host to a lot of Ancaster’s local talent, and Thursday nights have just become a tradition. Brad, Wyatt and myself enjoy going not only to try out new songs, play a few new tunes and getting a free pint for playing a set, but to listen to others, support and get up and jam with everyone else.
If you are a musician, or just enjoy listening to some fantastic musicians, come out Thursday nights to one of Ancaster’s finest pubs/restaurants the Coach and Lantern.
Dock Holliday Is Now Online

Well it is finally official, we have a website. A very special thanks to Mike Doyle for putting the time and effort in to designing and building the site and what we hope is a very recognizable, unforgettable mustache that represents Dock Holliday band of hipster folk rockers from Ancaster Ontario.
This website contains everything Dock Holliday from our line up of upcoming shows to band related news and updates. We also like to stay connected through Facebook and Twitter with all of our friends.
